MTC de Veluwe is een club voor motorrijd(st)ers van alle leeftijden, met als doel het samen rijden van mooie toerritten en het verbeteren van de rijvaardigheid, met of zonder duopassagier.

In 1995 zocht een aantal motorrijders elkaar steeds vaker op om gezamelijk ritten te rijden. Trefpunt was de verkeerschool De Veluwe die nog steeds als onze uitvalsbasis fungeert.
De inmiddels bij de KNMV aangesloten club is officieel actief sinds 1997 en organiseert regelmatig leuke toerritten. Zie hiervoor onze toer agenda.

Buiten de ritten organiseren we ook thema avonden in de clublocatie aan het Hofveld. Hierbij moet je denken aan info over veilig rijden, cursussen op het gebied van motor beheersing en/of technische zaken. Ook hebben we ieder jaar een aantal activiteiten in de winter gepland, waaronder onze traditionele nieuwjaarsreceptie.
Van maart tot oktober worden er zo’n veertien ritten georganiseerd. Ook gaan we ieder voor- en najaar enkele stuurwegen verkennen.

Tijdens elke rit is er een koffiestop waarbij er koffie en wat lekkers aanwezig is. Bij een toertocht die de hele dag duurt zijn de kosten van de lunch voor eigen rekening

Ritten worden gereden met een voorrijder die op veilige afstand wordt gevolgd door de groep. We rijden daar waar mogelijk “baksteensgewijs”. De minder ervaren rijders krijgen een plek voorin de groep. Tevens sturen we de route per mail.
Kaart- of route lezen is derhalve niet nodig, wel moet je de rijder achter je even in de gaten houden. Het tempo wordt aangepast aan de omstandigheden en de grootte van de groep. Bij overweldigende belangstelling kan de groep in twee delen gesplitst worden.
